If that is the actual Great Destroyer, then who or what is the actual Great Dwarf?

Edit: Just because 98% of all dwarves are now Stone Dwarves who are set out to destroy all Destroyers, doesn't mean that will be the end of them for us as players in Gw2.

The only things I know about Utopia, and that's also what I found on the wiki, is that it wasn't confirmed as one of the campaigns, so I thought it was interesting.

I think it's a bit of a shame it got dropped, too. It was obviously in a fairly advanced stage - it would have been nice to see a cut-down form being completed and released without the features that were causing trouble or any attempts to 'reinvent' the game.

You know, I don't think ANET followed the Washington state laws regarding abortion...

*Legal in case of danger to woman's health, rape or incest, or likely damaged fetus

So....Utopia was a damaged product? It endangered their health? ANET was being raped financially? Perhaps the Nightfall team was fooling around with Factions team too much?... that is about the only possibility.

concept art is like a story board, you draft / brainstorm / outlined what you wanted and you pick the one for the final product and discard the rest which anet probably keep for GW2.

however i am much intrigue by this Chronomancer

Absolutely astounding. I really wish they had gone with this sort of theme for a full, 4th campaign and given GW1 the sendout it deserved.

If it's not the player manual (you wrote the GW:EN Player Guide, what a name for a magazine) and if possible, add what you know (re-phrased, to avoid copyright problems) to the wiki: that magazine wasn't and isn't available to everybody.

As much as we all would have loved to have another chapter and no matter how much the art looks great, it seems obvious that Anet took the decision to scrap chapters because of one thing, the playerbase.

While it is large it isnt large enough to cover 3 chapters, never mind 4.
With each new chapter the majority moved to it, and once things settled down the amount of people in any one outpost was tiny.

Anet took the decision that while the idea was a success they couldnt continue with ever increasing geography and spreading the fanbase over all of it. GW2 is meant to counter this, we will have to see.

just wish we had soem of the cool armour

This is not obvious to me, not at all. To me, Anet has reached the limit of what they can do, given their company size. And it seems that they chose to stay a "medium size" company and concentrate on a few projects that they can manage (of course, it's all relative, people will always say you can do better and more ...), rather than stretch their resources. From the exterior, it seems that Anet is a very well organised company, though the playerbase gives them some hard time . Honestly, I'd love to see a big article on Anet's development method. We know they use integrated development via Visual Studio. I'd love to know how the concept art, graphics designer and core game developpers communicate. (maybe in-game on private GW servers? ) Please please Anet, release something akin to the DVD in the GW:Nightfall Collector's Edition with exclusive information like this!

Indeed, if Guild Wars used a high poly multi texture engine, it would look better then the concept art. Just look at heavenly sword for details of this.

If Anet could rely on the PS3 horsepower, I'm sure they'd do something much better (if only inspired by beautiful artwork!). Furthermore, a still picture is clearly not enough, the animation has to be able to not "cheat" too often for your eyes to be disappointed (similar to the graphic tricks most games were using until recently).

It's very easy to raise the graphics bar, there are amazing ray-tracers out there, Half-life 2/Halo 3/Gears of War/Crysis/Quake Wars graphics engines are very impressive, but it's a totally different game (so to say) to run this on most computers, with only 4-5Go of data for 4 games, and in an MMO environment.

Concept art is always better than the actual game. Market researchers that sell to the general population feed the idiotic consumers (mainly children who beg their parents for the game) and ignore the actual gamers for money's sake. Stuff like that will never meet the gamer's eye in the actual gameplay.

I don't think that was the actual Great Destroyer. The Great Destroyer was the General of Primordius. We never actually got to see the real Great Dwarf.
